Sterlingfest FAQ

How much are tickets?

Sterlingfest is free to attend. Concerts, entry to the Art Fair, and entertainment stages are all free.

Where is Sterlingfest located?

Sterling Heights City Center: 40555 Utica Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48313; Dodge Park 40620 Utica Rd.

Where is the best place to park?

All parking, including handicap parking options, and shuttle information can be found here.

Are dogs/pets allowed?

Dogs/pets are not allowed. Service animals are welcome.

Are bicycles or rollerblades allowed?

No. Bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, and similar items are not allowed.

Are coolers allowed?

Yes, coolers are allowed, but no glass bottles and no outside alcohol are permitted.

Is smoking permitted?

Yes, but only in designated areas. Marijuana is prohibited.

Are lawn chairs allowed?

Yes, lawn chairs of all sizes and blankets are allowed but must be removed each night. The concert lawn is flat, not sloped. 

How does the concert seating work?

Concert seating is first come, first served. 

Are there ATMs available?

An ATM is available at the BP Gas Station, located at 40375 Utica Rd.

Where is the lost and found?

Any lost items, including lost children, can be dropped off or claimed at the Emergency Management trailer located on Dodge Park Rd. on the south side of the Upton House. Lost items may also be returned to the Information Booth.

What time is the drone show?

Due to weather, the Drone Show has been rescheduled for Friday, July 24 at 9:30 p.m.

Where is the best spot to see the Drone Show?

As long as you are outside (not under a pavilion) anywhere in Dodge Park or in the Art Fair, you'll have a great view of the Drone Show.

Where can I buy Carnival wristbands?

Carnival wristbands can be purchased in-advance online through our partner, Wade Shows, or on site at Sterlingfest. If you purchased your tickets online, bring your QR code to the ticket booth to get your wristband(s). Cash or credit card are accepted on site. Please note that after 8 p.m., minors 17 or younger must be accompanied by an adult age 25+ in the carnival area.

Are wristbands only good for one day?

Yes, wristbands can be used for any day, but once you redeem, they expire at the end of that day.

What time do they stop selling Carnival wristbands?

Carnival wristband sales end at 9 p.m. each day.

What happens if it rains or thunderstorms?

Sterlingfest is a rain-or-shine event, and there are no scheduled rain-out dates. In the event of severe weather or an unexpected disruption, we will ask everyone to evacuate to City Hall, Police Department, Community Center, Senior Center, or Library. We will post real-time updates to our Event Hotline at 586-446-2692 and send out text alerts—just text STERLINGFEST to 24639 to sign up.

Can I distribute literature or collect signatures?

No. Solicitation is not permitted. Please review our solicitation policy

Will water be available?

Yes. Water is available for purchase at vendor booths. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bottles and stay hydrated. Drinking fountains available in parks and city facilities.

Where can I go to cool off?

The City of Sterling Heights is fully prepared to keep festivalgoers safe and comfortable during the heat. We’ll have about eight misting stations placed throughout the Sterlingfest grounds, as well as designated cooling shelters. In addition, our first aid tents staffed by firefighter/paramedics will be available on site for anyone in need of assistance.

Cooling Locations (available to the public):

  • Sterling Heights Public Library Programming Center: open daily 9 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Sterling Heights Police Department lobby: open throughout the day
  • Sterling Heights City Hall: open July 24 & 25, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Community Center Atrium: open July 24 & 25, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Senior Center Atrium:
    • July 24 & 25: open 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
    • July 26: open 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Misting Stations:

  • Large Misting Stationswill be located at:
    • Kids Tent
    • Upton House
    • Community Center
  • Smaller Misting Stations will be distributed throughout the festival grounds all three days.

While water will be available for purchase from various vendors, we also encourage attendees to bring their own water bottles and stay hydrated.
