Biography
Councilman Robert Mijac was elected to City Council in November 2025. Previously, Robert served as Macomb County Commissioner for more than two decades (1995–2010; 2012–2020), where he championed community development, fiscal responsibility and collaborative regional progress.
He holds an MBA from Wayne State University, a bachelor’s degree in economics from Michigan State University and an associate degree from Macomb Community College.
As a passionate environmental volunteer, he has coordinated efforts with Green Michigan and has proudly sponsored an Adopt-A-Road cleanup for 25 years. He also contributes to local watershed protection as a member of the Clinton River Watershed Council.
Robert has dedicated his life to public service and community stewardship in Sterling Heights where he was born, raised and currently resides with his wife Maria and their son Filip.
