Building Closures

The Community Center, Nature Center, Senior Center and Butterfly Conservatory will be closed on the following days: Dec. 6, 18, 24, 25 and 31. The Community Center and Senior Center will open at 5 p.m. on Dec. 18 for evening activities.

Dodge Park Ice Rink Opening Day

Monday, Dec. 1 from 12-9 p.m. More info.

Come get your skate on at the Dodge Park Ice Rink all winter long. The ice rink will open for the season on Monday, Dec. 1 from noon to 9 p.m.

Sterling Christmas

Saturday, Dec. 6 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. No registration required. More info.

Celebrate the magic of the season with us at Sterling Christmas! Join us in Dodge Park on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 5:30–8:30 p.m. for our annual holiday tradition featuring the tree lighting ceremony, caroling, Santa visits, train rides, pony rides, a petting farm, ice skating, refreshments and more. Be sure to bring an ornament representing your family to hang on the community tree inside the historic Upton House!

Adult Basketball League

Thursdays, Jan. 8 - March 5. Register your team in person at the Community Center.

It’s time to hit the court! Our Adult Basketball League tips off Thursday, Jan. 8, with eight guaranteed games, upper and lower divisions, and team uniforms provided. All games are played on Thursday nights, so gather your squad and get ready for some friendly competition and bragging rights! Register in person at the Community Center by Monday, Dec. 22!

Adaptive Recreation Holiday Dance

Friday, Dec. 12 from 6-9:30 p.m. Register online.

Deck the halls with disco balls! Get ready to sparkle, shine, and sleigh the night away at the grooviest holiday bash of the season! Whether you're naughty, nice, or just here for the boogie - this is one holiday party you won't want to miss. Let's make spirits bright and the dance floor brighter! Ticket price includes a catered dinner, a visit with Santa, a craft station, music, dancing and supervision.

Gingerbread Fun - Prep Like a Pro

Tuesday, Dec. 16 from 6-7 p.m. Register online.

Spice up your season with the sweet scent of gingerbread and a sprinkle of festive fun! Whether you're a baking beginner or a cookie connoisseur, this workshop will teach you how to craft the perfect gingerbread treats. Each participant will take home their concoctions to enjoy. Main ingredients will be provided, you will just need to add your choice of protein (if needed) at home.

Ba-Humbug Holiday Party - Teen Night Out

Friday, Dec. 19 from 7-9 p.m. Register online.

This holiday party is sure to put you in the holiday spirit, even if you pretend to be a Grinch! We’ll have several interactive activities to help you celebrate the season, and refreshments will be provided.

Community Blood Drive

Tuesday, Dec. 16 from 2:30 - 7 p.m. Register online.

Help spread the love by donating blood at our upcoming Community Blood Drive on Nov. 18 from 2:30 - 7 p.m. at the Community Center. Walk-ins welcome as schedule allows but appointments are preferred.

Senior Center

Heritage Handbells Holiday Concert

Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. Register in person at the Senior Center.

The Heritage Handbells is composed of community residents as well as bell ringers from Oakland and Macomb counties. The group includes 11 ringers, each responsible for playing three to four bells and/or choir chimes. The ensemble has entertained audiences of all ages for nearly 20 years and is honored to bring its program to the Senior Center.

50+ Holiday Party

Friday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. Register in person at the Senior Center by Nov. 25.

Dust off your dancing shoes because John from High Fidelity Sounds will play a variety of tunes to help you work off the catered meal provided by Century Banquet. All registered participants will have a chance to take home a present or two — and you never know what surprises might await.

Chair Volleyball - Grand Connections

Monday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. Register in person at the Senior Center by Dec. 10.

Holiday break from school is a great time to make memories and have fun with your grand! Join us at the Senior Center for an exciting afternoon competing against other families. Chair volleyball is fun for everyone — the hardest part is staying in your seat!
