For a trial period, the City of Sterling Heights will be providing inspections for homeowners between the hours of 7:30 & 8:30 a.m., and 3:30 & 4:30 p.m. for the following inspection types:

• Furnace and air conditioning replacements
• Water heater replacement
• Electrical services

The inspection must be scheduled online at least seven days in advance. Select HCI as the inspection type, and after it is scheduled, the homeowner must contact the appropriate inspector directly. 

If a furnace or air conditioner reconnect is involved, schedule an HCI for both electrical and mechanical. The homeowner will only need to contact one of the inspectors and indicate that the two inspections are scheduled.

If an inspector is not available for the selected date, a different date will be arranged directly with the homeowner.
