Sterling Heights Rewind

September was packed with energy in Sterling Heights, and we’ve got the highlights to prove it! From climbing aboard big rigs at Touch-a-Truck and getting creative at Crafts on the Clinton, to celebrating our city’s future at the State of the City and even letting our four-legged friends cool off at the Splash Pad Dog Party—there was no shortage of excitement. Catch all the moments you may have missed in this month’s Sterling Heights Rewind!

Touch-a-Truck 2025

Thank you to everyone who put their “touch” on our community art project during Touch-a-Truck at our final Dodge Park Thursday of the season! Together we transformed a city snowplow into a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects the creativity of our community. Keep an eye out for this masterpiece clearing snow on city streets this winter!

Crafts on the Clinton

This year's Crafts on the Clinton, in partnership with the Clinton River Watershed Council, was a success! Guests enjoyed an evening of local beer and wine tastings, live music, delicious food, and art vendors. The evening also highlighted work the CRWC does to protect and enhance the Clinton River, its watershed, and Lake St. Clair.

MISD Honors SHPD

At Macomb Intermediate School District's (MISD) Opening Day, the Sterling Heights Police Department was honored with the Service to Schools Award. The award acknowledges their leadership, service and dedication to Macomb County school districts, as well as partnerships with the Macomb County community and students with special needs.

The event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the teachers, paraprofessionals, staff, bus drivers, students, and everyone who is part of the MISD team, and we look forward to continuing this partnership with MISD and Macomb County school districts!

2025 Sterling Heights State of the City Address

Mayor Michael Taylor delivered the annual State of the City address on Friday, Sept. 12 at MJR Movie Theater, celebrating the many ways “It’s More Fun in Sterling Heights.” From new projects to community highlights, there’s plenty to be proud of.

Inspiring Green: AGS Automotive

The City of Sterling Heights has officially launched the Inspiring Green Partnership with a ribbon cutting at AGS Automotive US's 18 ½ Mile Road facility. As the first partner, AGS contributed $30,000 to support the planting of more than 90 new trees and eco-friendly landscaping throughout the community. This initiative is a major step toward creating greener, healthier public spaces for generations to come. Thank you to AGS for leading the way.
